Brittany Christianson has already been through more than most people could imagine. She went through radiation to treat a large tumor in her back, holding on to the hope that the worst was behind her.
Then the latest scans came back. They showed 27 new tumors, on top of the one she had already fought so hard to treat. Our family is still trying to understand what this means for the road ahead.
Because there are so many tumors, her doctors say they first need to bring them under control before they can even attempt surgery or more radiation. We are exploring clinical trials and waiting for a definitive plan. Waiting is its own kind of pain when every day matters.
Anyone who knows Brittany knows she is a fighter. Her spirit is unmatched, and she has faced every step of this with a courage that leaves us speechless. But her body needs rest now — it is carrying more than any body should.
That means Brittany cannot work during this time. Her income has stopped, but the bills have not. Appointments, scans, medications, travel and everyday living costs keep coming, and they are mounting faster than our family can keep up.
We never wanted to ask for help. But we would rather ask than watch Brittany spend her strength worrying about money instead of fighting for her life.
